THE ORIGIN OF REIKI

Reiki is the Universal Life Force , it is that which we all come from and that which we will all return to. Reiki is the source of all existence , therefore Reiki has been around since the beginning of time.

There are many different stories about how Reiki founded , but the one thing they all agree on is that it was brought to us by Mikao Usui , 15th August 1865-9th March 1926 , from Japan in 1922. Dr Usui undertook a spiritual path which led him to the discovery of Reiki. He studied many forms of religions and there stories which made claim to being able to heal by touch or spirit alone. Dr Usui is said to have climbed Mount Karma-Yarma on a 21 day buddhist meditation when he founded or was gifted the practice pf Reiki. He started practicing Reiki in April 1922 and later died of a stroke on 6th March 1926. Before he died it is said he treated 2,000 people and he passed on his knowledge to 16 people who continued after his death. It was a lady , Hawayo Takata,  a Reiki Master attuned by Chujiro Hayashi 1 of the original 16 Masters trained by Dr Usui himself who introduced Reiki to the western world in 1975 and it is believed she put a Christian slant on the history to make it more appealing to the people in the west.
